Our work

Policy Influence & Social Accountability

Giving communities a voice in the decisions that shape their lives — and the tools to hold those decisions to account.

Why it matters

Participation only matters when it leads to accountability.

Communities often know what is not working. What they sometimes lack is the information, confidence and platform to influence the decisions and budgets that affect them.

We support citizens — especially youth, women and smallholder farmers — to understand public processes, engage constructively and monitor commitments. Our role is to strengthen local voices, not speak over them.

Our role

Strengthen local voices. Do not speak over them.

Our focus

Three ways we strengthen accountability.

We work with communities, local organisations and public institutions to make participation practical.

Community voice

Creating safe, informed spaces where citizens can raise concerns, ask questions and contribute to local plans.

Social accountability

Helping communities track public commitments, budgets and services — and follow up constructively.

Youth & women’s leadership

Building the confidence and skills of young people and women to take part in decisions that affect their future.

How we work

Information. Participation. Follow-through.

  • Make public information understandable and accessible
  • Build safe spaces for constructive engagement
  • Support communities to monitor and follow up
  • Share what works with local institutions and partners
